Youth led All the youthinkgreen’ers of Nepal are young people (16 -24 years). We incorporate the experiences and priorities of young people into everything that we do. All youthinkgreen’ers aim at sharing ideas for green action with other young people in Nepal allowing them to participate.
Responsibility youthinkgreen Nepal believes that we have an obligation to act when young people’s rights and well-being are threatened. The organization also feels responsible for developing critically minded environmental activists who can create awareness to the other “under privileged” young people all over the country.
Collaboration youthinkgreen Nepal develops responses to the critical and emerging issues threatening young people by engaging and inspiring the involvement of individuals, groups, communities, organizations and governments. We build local youth capacity and coordinate accordingly to act for ecological and social change. youthinkgreen’ers have been collaborating with ‘We’ for Change with regard to resources and program activities.
Innovation The peer-led approach enables youthinkgreen Nepal to develop creative solutions to the problems faced by adolescents. youthinkgreen Nepal innovative project concepts and models offer long-term sustainability once the program intervention period is over.
Sustainable Approach youthinkgreen’s outcome-focused actions are targeted, well researched, thoroughly planned, and creatively executed in order to achieve the sustainability in the programs of environmental consciousness.
Reducing Carbon Footprint! youthinkgreen’ers have been working to reduce the carbon footprints whenever possible. We have been successful in promoting cycling and walking as an alternative to the young population whenever possible which contributes in making mother earth happier with less carbon footprint in the Kathmandu city.
Reduce-Reuse-Recycle This concept tries to make a cleaner environment through less use of resources. Initiatives such as a ban of polythene bags, introduction of the bins to separate the waste materials in the schools of Kathmandu valley has been taking place. youthinkgreen’ers are trying to introduce the concept of DIY (Do It Yourself) to encourage the young people to reuse and recycle their waste materials to look stylish.
Green Platform Initiative Green Platform Initiative focuses on awareness classes in the schools and colleges about the ecological rights, environmental sustainability. youthinkgreen’ers along with the students of the schools discuss and try to identify possible solutions for environmental degradation. The Green Platform Initiative is conducted in the schools of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur Valley.
