‘All Hands Together’ is a youth initiative to build ethnic harmony and social cohesion in the communities of Nepal. This project was initiated in support of Chevening Foundation, UK and in collaboration with Center for Social Change. This project focused on identifying the possible ways to contribute in building ethnic harmony and social cohesion in the communities of Madhes (Terai) and Pahad (Hills) region of Nepal. The main objective of the project was to integrate youth influencers of these regions through intercultural exchange and community engagement actions. This project rejuvenated the energy of 16 young enthusiasts of Kathmandu valley and Janakpur by creating a platform to understand each-others culture and strengthen ties. 8 youths from Madhes and 8 youths from Pahad participated in the exchange program. The project took place in two phases:

Phase I: Exchange program at Janakpur, Nepal:

The first phase of project ‘All HANDS TOGETHER’ took place in Janakpur, Nepal. A week-long exchange visit to Janakpur was completed where learning were captured from Madhes culture to concerns of Madesh. Lectures, workshop, community visit, actions and sightseeing were also organized to cultural and historically important sites of Janakpur.

Phase II: Exchange Program at Kathmandu Valley:

The second phase of project ‘All HANDS TOGETHER’ took place in Kathmandu, Nepal. A week-long exchange visit to Kathmandu valley was completed in the second phase where learning lectures, debates, workshop, community visit and actions were organized to develop a better understanding on the issue of Hills and sightseeing were also organized in different cultural and historically important sites of Kathmandu valley.
