‘Best from Waste’ is a self-initiation of ‘We’ for Change to promote the concept of 4R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Repair. This project started from 2017 and since then it has been ongoing and has reached 1050 young school going students through the training provided. Globally, Nepal is ranked fourth, in terms of vulnerability to climate change and its effect has already been seen through diverse change in weather patterns and one of the major contributor to this is increased energy consumption and increased green-house gases emission. With the aim to reduce energy consumption by instilling habit of 4R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Repair, ‘We’ for Change has been organizing ‘Best from Waste’ program in different schools of Kathmandu Valley. 3-days training session is provided to the students where they learn different techniques of recycling non-degradable products as plastics. In the last day of the training an exhibition is organized where the students exhibit the products made by them to the entire school.
