I am Positive

From the makers of ‘The Condom’ song, ‘We’ is back yet again with all new HIV and AIDS awareness movie titled ‘I am Positive’. The story line involves ‘sani’ an HIV infected girl with the struggles of her life and her son Nabin comes strong years later with unshakable determination and courage breaking the chains of HIV-AIDS taboo.The project is a joint initiation of ‘We’ for CHANGE, AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF Nepal) and National Centre for AIDS and STD control Nepal (NCASC).

Flash Mob!

On the occasion of International Condom Day 2017, ‘We’ for Change in collaboration with AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF Nepal) organized Flash mob. The Flash mob took place at City Center, Kamalpokhari and Patan Durbar Square. The main aim of the event was to aware the general public about the importance of Condom through the medium of dance and music. The flashmob created a varied display of condom probs, dresses made that showcased use of condom and way to end the stigma of HIV-AIDS

Condom Box Installation

‘We’ for Change installed our first condom box at  Purano-Buspark, Kathmandu on November 2017, which was inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of Transportation Mr. Nabaraj Ghimire. This installation was the first of its kind and ‘We’ will aim to install more of such boxes in major kernels of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and outside valleys in more days to come.

Red Vogue Fashion Show

‘We’ for Change, in support of AIDS Health care Foundation, Nepal and National Center for AIDS and STDs Control NCASC and in collaboration with RIFA, conducted Red Vogue Fashion Show on February 2017. This not only showcased the young and talented designers but also their  brilliant work in designing trendy dresses with the optimum utilization of condoms. The main aim of this show was to break stereotypical thinking on the use of condom to prevent the risk of STDs, STIs and HIV/AIDS.

International Youth Day 2017

Based on the theme, ‘Youth Building Peace’, ‘We’ for Change on the occasion of ‘International Youth Day 2017’ questioned random youths of Kathmandu valley about their role in peace building. The main aim behind this action was to know the perception of youths regarding their role in peace building eventually leading towards nation’s development.

Best from Waste Exhibition

​’We’ for Change recently conducted an exhibition to the Grade-8 students of Kavya School, Buddhanagar, about the recycled products from discarded and unused materials. Our members and trainees converted these unused materials such as newspapers, CDs, Straws, old t-shirts into fascinating items such as bags, baskets, painting palates etc. These items were then exhibited to the students with the aim to promote the concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. 

Youth Consultation on ‘Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) – Berlin

On June 29, 2017, ‘We’ for Change participated on GFMD outreach conference  where young minds gathered  via live streaming and provided recommendations for the event. Participants were able to analyze the current global scenario on refugee migration and link it towards regular migration in Asian perspective.

‘We’ welcomes new Board of Directors

With the completion of 5 years of ‘We’ for Change, ‘We’ elected new Board of Directors for the year 2017-2019. On March 14, ‘We’ officially welcomed the new team. The event thereby witnessed oath taking ceremony for the new team consisting of:

World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2017, ‘We’ distributed green hope threads to all. This thread aimed at committing the general public towards a greener environment.Trainees and members of ‘We’ team effortlessly joined us at this day to help aware the people. The event took place at Mangalbazaar, Sajha yatayats and Basantapur. 

Say yes to SRHR

We’ for Change has been providing classes related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Menstrual health and hygiene to the young adolescents of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district of Nepal. Our trainees and volunteers have been conducting such classes in various schools targeting adolescents of age group 10 to 16 years. Till date ‘We’ conducted 5 such classes in 5 different schools with an aim to aware adolescents about their rights and proper health hygiene. 

Celebrating International Yoga Day

On June 21, 2017, ‘We’ celebrated International Yoga Day by providing yoga training to the mobile transportation workers of Kathmandu valley. 18 transportation workers of Aakashedhara were taught various yoga postures and positions by our very own yoga trainer. These transport workers committed to practice these yoga poses every day for a happy and healthy life. ​
